Me: I’m a twenty-something girl currently based in Austin, Texas obsessed with all of the title elements.

Food: Eating it, cooking it, reading about it…I love it all.  After reading that Thomas Keller automatically VIPs solo diners and just cooks for them, I set the life goal of dining at the French Laundry in Napa by myself.   I’m the anti-Rachael Ray at home, abhorring jars, mixes, and abbreviations.  Whomever I can lure over to my house is getting from scratch cooking and multiple courses.

Fashion: When I was in second grade, my mother brought me leather pants home from Las Vegas.  Unfortunately, I didn’t appreciate them at the time, wanting to look like all the other kids on the playground, but I credit her with planting the initial seeds of fashion sensibility.  I interned in college at a fashion magazine in New York (Vitals–it folded a few years ago), and shopping is one of my top three hobbies.  I have a particular weakness for shoes, and I blame Carrie Bradshaw for the 50% price increase on Manolo Blahniks.

Flight: I have a hard time sitting still.  I’ve lived in three cities in the past year.  I’m somewhat settled in Austin now, but after embarking on my sixth trip in two months, my friends and family suggested I stop writing the world’s longest facebook statuses and start a blog.  I want to go (almost) everywhere.

So this blog is me writing about these three things, separately or in combination.  Ideally, I’d always be writing from a foreign land, having just consumed a delicious meal at a hidden away restaurant, wearing a fabulous pair of shoes purchased that afternoon from a local designer.  Unfortunately, I do work, occasionally.  So when I’m at home, it’ll be about local restaurants or boutiques, home cooking experiements, online shopping,  travel plans or articles…anything more or less on topic.  Enjoy!
